Tax Compliance Pin Request for Companies/Individuals

By: Pumeza Chochoe

A Compliance Tax Pin from SARS (South African Revenue Service) is a digital tool that allows individuals or entities to prove their tax compliance status to third parties.

It is essential for various reasons, including:

  1. Tender Applications: When applying for government or private tenders, it is often required to show proof of tax compliance. A valid compliance tax pin provides quick verification.

  2. Government or Business Contracts: Many government agencies and businesses require proof of tax compliance from service providers, which can be easily verified through the pin.

  3. Loan or Credit Applications: Financial institutions may request proof of tax compliance when assessing loan or credit applications.

  4. Licensing and Permits: Some business licenses or permits require a tax-compliant status before they can be issued.

  5. Regulatory or Legal Requirements: Certain legal or regulatory procedures may require proof of compliance with tax obligations, such as when purchasing property or participating in government programs.

The Compliance Tax Pin simplifies the process, as it allows third parties to verify tax compliance online without needing the taxpayer's confidential documents. It demonstrates that the taxpayer is in good standing with SARS in terms of filing returns and paying taxes.
